Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Caught up

If you just happened to flick over to my blog that has been asleep for the last few months then you are in for an absolute treat!! Or not.....depends how you feel about reading about our lives?
The pictures will probably need to be resized and are probably massive - that is annoying but I will fix that another day. It's a fiddly job and I have to go and roast pumpkin and make ice cream cakes.
Anyway grab a cuppa and sit back.....here is the last 3 months...go....

Christmas nail stickers

Lovely Jac gave me some Christmas nail stickers as an early surprise Christmas present.
I put them on last night. I am not sure if they are meant for fake nails or if they were printed the wrong way up or if my nails are too short or if I just suck at putting them on? Let's go with the last one.
Anyway poor gingerbread man lost his head and the pudding lost it's festive holly. However from a distance they look very cool and they remind me of a lovely surprise gift from one of my favourite friends - completely worth beheading gingi for!!

A day with Liz and the kids

Last Friday we got to spend the whole day with Liz and the kids while poor Matthew still had one day left of school.
It was so great. The kids played all day. Liz and I talked and drank coffee and I got lots of cuddles with the little man Fletch. It was a great day. We even made mini Christmas puddings - thank you Colin.
We are so blessed that the kids love being with each other. I know I have said it before but I pray it continues long into their teen years and beyond.

Carols 2014

I can hardly believe that this has already happened again! They are starting to blend together. Carols comes at the the end of just so much stuff for me: Kids' Club finale, kids church presentation day, scripture assembly, thinking about next year....but I love love to sing and I love love to sing carols. They so beautifully speak the truths of the Bible. It is a such a joy to lead people in song to God.
We had such beautiful weather after a week of massive storms every night. It was cool and still. I think we got 1600 people this year! What?! May they have heard the real Christmas message.
Jac you would be so proud - Xavi watched the fireworks without a towel over his head this year and without crying!! He even took his fingers out of his ears for about 3 seconds!!

School ends 2014

The boys have had a good year on the whole.
Xavi has had the most wonderful year with great friends, fabulous teachers and lots of great learning. Xavier got the Citizenship Award for his class in the big assembly, for showing kindness and being a fair and conscientious student. Got to be happy with that hey?!
Seth has had a year of ups and downs. Life seems to get harder as we get older. He has had a good teacher, but no Mr Bush. He has had relationship issues with friends on and off and a bunch of his good buddies are leaving for all sorts of reasons. He was sad on the last day and it broke my heart. Pray with me that he makes some good friends next year and that he has a fabulous teacher who helps him reach his potential.

Xavier turns 7!!!!!

Hooray! Finally!! He just loves his birthday and it is a very long countdown to get there. (Well it feels long to me). He is funny and cheeky. He is determined and frustrating. He loves to get his own way. He is friendly and outgoing. He is cuddly and loves Jesus and wants others to love him too. He loves people and being around them. We love this little pocket rocket with a passion and are so glad the God placed him in our family. With all the things he needs to learn there are many that we are learning through him too

It was a birthday with many celebrations. We had a ninja turtle party with the Barclay family the Saturday before. We went to builda ear with his buddy Cooper the day before his birthday. We went out for dinner on his actually birthday. We had a combined birthday afternoon tea the Sunday after his birthday for Xavi and Taylah at Miss' place. A fun week for a fun loving kid.

Laura is engaged!!

At the end of October Laura got engaged. She is just so so happy which is just lovely. She has been planning away. During the busyness of Christmas, end of school and Xavi's birthday we squeezed in a day to shop for bridesmaids dresses. Laura also got her dress. I am not sure if I should show you the dresses or not....here is close up of Liz wearing it so you can see the colour.
