Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Up to date

For some reason every now and then Blog Press doesn't like to post my photos. I don't know why. That is why my blogging has been rather hit and miss lately.
For some reason yesterday and today it worked so I am caught up again.
If you notice big gaps it is because of the technology issue. Rest assured that when it works I shall blog - I just know how disappointed you would be without my weekly exciting updates on our amazingly exciting life.
That is all.

Really???

This post is not to brag - more to wonder at how this happens. Check out the award Xavier got...

Really??? Exceptional??
This award came home the day after he had a lengthy tantrum because I wouldn't let him have a muesli bar or asked him to have a shower or something trivial like that. The exceptional behaviour I see involves a bit of hitting, banging things, getting really cranky about dumb things....he is exceptionally good at that!!
I am very grateful that he behaves at school. I do hope it continues cause school is much more enjoyable if you please your teachers. I do wish he would bring this 'always exceptional behaviour' home though!!!
(As a side point he is not always exceptionally badly behaved - but when he is it's just best to get out of the way)

Barclay June Birthdays

That night we celebrated Seth, Dad, Bert and myself with pumpkin soup, lemon meringue pie and a big blue cake. I love my family very much. Look Dad even held Fletcher for more than 10 seconds and the world kept turning!!

Saturday Celebrations

There was no party for turning 10 but there were festivities. The Rivas' and Daniel joined us at Flip Out for a jump and then San Churros for some chocolate treats. It was super fun.

Seth turns 10!!!

I got all nostalgic this year when our eldest son turned 10. 10!! I can hardly believe how quickly the time has gone. I remember the week he was born, how I felt, what he looked like, how protective I became. He is such a joy in our lives. A beautiful soul, sensitive, great sense of humour, loyal friend, great big brother, question asker, joke teller, little bit nerdburger - all round great kid. What a blessing to our family.

Queen's Birthday in the Highlands

The boys and I had the pleasure of spending the day with the Rivas' while Berty studied for his exam. Yay for us - not so much for him.
We drank good coffee, listened to the kiddies play, chatted and had Fletcher cuddles. It was a good day.

Birthday

Every year on my birthday I am reminded what fabulous friends and family I have. For me it 's more about counting the many blessings God has given me than a celebration of how old I am getting. This is a photo of my birthday blanket jacket. I love it and wear it a lot.

Cranky

I love Xavier a lot. He is a trying child who presses my buttons. We argue more than I am happy to admit. He is very stubborn. After another long fought battle about something insignificant he was sent to bed with no story and no kiss goodnight. When I went to check on him he was on the floor. The next morning he said 'Mum I slept on the floor because I was having a sook'. Hmmmm we have a ways to go with this one.

Disco dudes

The boys had a school disco. Very exciting and an excuse to dress up.
