Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

HPPS Open Day - Education Week 2012

Today was open day. Xavi and I arrived at school at 11am to enjoy lunch with Seth in the glorious playground - yes they have lunch really early so I am now wondering if I should have second lunch or have 2 afternoon teas??
Anyway after enjoying the cold, blustery winter's day for 45mins we then went into the the classrooms. It was good to see some of Seth's work and lovely to see Xavi sit beside him and do 'work' with his big brother.
We then went back outside and watched the 'Hot Peppers'. They were amazing!!! Thinking we should get the old skipping rope out and get some tricks happening.

Blows my mind to think that next year I'll have two classrooms to visit!

The trampoline dog

Indie loves getting up on the trampoline, much to the delight of the boys. She'll even get up there when the boys aren't on it - weird! I don't like her getting up there when the boys are jumping - I am afraid she will break a leg or something and we've been there done that already - with a little boy AND a dog. Although when Xsara did her leg it was from running away. How would I explain it to the vet? 'we think she has broken her leg jumping on the trampoline.... Ahhh yes the dog.... Ummm yeah she gets up there herself'

Please let me on

-Oh man you've done up the zipper

It's just not fair

A day at the theatre

On Saturday we all went to Mittagong Playhouse to watch Mabelle perform in A Kidsummer Night's Dream. It was fabulous!!! Mabelle was the most gorgeous fairy on the stage and I am definitely not biased!! Seth really loved it, Xavier liked it but 2 hours of sitting still is a big ask for a 4 year old wriggler. We weren't allowed to take photos of the actual show. Wish we could have seen it again!!

Preshow blue monster cupcakes which surprisingly they really only ate the icing

This is after the show - just love Mima's funky new haircut x

Choc chip cookies

My mum has the best choc chip cookie recipe in the world. It's worth making the dough and just eating that - so, so yum.
Xavi and I made biscuits on Monday - it was cold, wet and miserable. Xavi ended up eating them on the lounge, watching a DVD and curled up under a blanket - wish I could have done that!

This morning

This photo does not do this rainbow justice. It was so bright and colourful and we watched it all the way to school this morning. Xavi and I then listened to 'God is There' on the way home - God is a God who keeps his promises - oooo yeah!!

Indie update

The good news is that she is settling in well. She didn't bang on the door last night which was lovely! She loves being with people which is really nice.
I found her the other night curled up on the end of Xavier's bed - very cute!

We introduced her to the Sams family via Skype

She is being smothered with Xavi love

So true, so so true!!
Funny - but true!

Indie

We have a new puppy. She is 11months old, a husky and we rescued her from the local shelter.
Last night was her first night with us. She wasn't happy to be put outside to sleep and banged on the doors and howled for quite a while. Needless to say I didn't sleep very much.
However, she has been good during the day when I've been home - she has been keeping me company while I work by curling up at my feet. She has been good with the boys so far and they are sooooo excited that we have a dog again.
I am sure there will be many posts to follow about Indie - let's hope they are mostly happy ones!!!

Best Corncakes Ever

We got a new oven and stovetop after many years of dealing with dodgy ones.
I used Jac's 'best corncakes ever' recipe to christen the stovetop - although my cooking skills leave much to be desired the corncakes were yum. I will keep practicing.

I christened the oven today with the Banana Loaf recipe Jen gave me a couple of years ago. The banana loaf cooked in the right amount of time, it cooked evenly and it didn't burn in one side - amazing!!!! Thank you Lane girls for convincing me I needed a new oven too!!!

Melbourne Memories

What better way to reminisce about Melbourne than to play with Diptic and look at photos.

My fear is that I didn't take enough photos of good coffee which perhaps means I didn't drink enough coffee while we were there? That's a good enough reason to go back - yes? Anyone interested?

IKEA

On Wednesday I introduced Seth to the wonder of IKEA. He enjoyed going into all the made up rooms - he's fun to shop with. We got the Expedit we went for......and a few other things:)

PJ Day

This week was PJ's week at preschool. I think the only reason we got Xavi to preschool in the holidays is because he could wear his PJ's! He went both Wed and Thurs and without crying - a miracle. Here he is in his PJ's with his puppy off to preschool - p, p, p.

Melbourne

It was a week ago today that I flew to Melbourne to spend time with some of my favourite people. It was funny when people told me to have a good time - good food, great coffee, shopping and superb friends - having a good time was a given!! We would have had a good time just doing nothing together! Melbourne was a real treat and worth every moment! Thank you friends!!!

Engagement Ring weirdness

Ok how weird is this - on our 13th wedding anniversary I discovered that my engagement ring is split right through - it catches on things and hurts if it pinches! How weird though to discover it on the anniversary day and the 13th one at that!! I'm not superstitious but what a great coincedence! I'm hoping that Michael Hill will be able to solder it back together for me or whatever jewellery type thing they do. Feels really strange not wearing it.

It's not the most expensive ring ever bought, I know the diamond is only little but Berty chose it himself and it was what we could afford at the time. I never wanted a big diamond and even though it's only small it's special and I love it.

Build a Bear

Today we were the crazy people that let their kids loose in Build a Bear. My children have a mountain of stuffed toys so no bears were made today - they took ones made previously. Today their toys got a new outfit. The kids had fun - that's what matters :)
