Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Sunday afternoon fun

It has been good to have a quiet week but by Sunday afternoon we were ready to do something! So after church we headed off to see Wreck it Ralph. It was a little bit scary in parts so I got some nice cuddles from Xavi.

It wasn't a very sunny day or even a warm one but we have keys to a friends pool so the boys wanted a swim. I went to watch - too cold for me!

Letting go

Seth struggles with getting rid of things - shoes, clothes, artworks, toys - you name it. The following picture is of a dinosaur that Seth made in Kindy that he has always wanted to hold onto. It is starting to fall apart so he finally agreed to let me recycle it. We had to have one last photo.

Heart warmer

Of all the things that happened on Christmas Day this was my favourite....

Even though the kids were given activity sheets to do during the sermon Seth didn't get his out but kept reading through the book of Luke. I took this sneaky photo to remember this precious moment and to remind me to pray that he is always thirsty for what the word of God says. This was the best present

Church decorating

Just because we meet in a school hall doesn't mean we shouldn't embrace the Christmas spirit. Usually I go early on Christmas Eve and madly put out tinsel over the stage. It's never that great or what I really want.
This year I enlisted the help of the insanely talented and creative Prue Broughton. Being the fabulous lady she is she embraced my idea to decorate with big boxes wrapped beautifully. To be honest I did the basic wrapping and she made them look good. A good result!

Christmas Moment

Today we made mini Christmas puddings. Needless to say I am no chef so these are about my limit. I try to do things that make Christmas special for the boys but fear my lack of home skills means that they miss out. Well these I can make and they turn out ok. So chalk that up as a Christmas memory/good mum moment.

I couldn't get mint leaves or raspberry lollies at the shops this morning so we crushed up a candy cane instead. I am quite happy with the last photo- looks foodie.

It's Christmas time in the city

After many years of me saying we should go into the city to see the Christmas displays we finally did! With the added bonus of the lovely Steph joining us.
We had a really late night the night before but the boys coped ok.
We drove to Bexley North and caught the train to St James. We then walked to DJ's to see their windows. We went into DJ's to see this one particular tree that Xavier had seen from the outside. This tree was the same as the 10 we walked past to get to it but anyway.... We then went upstairs to the Magic Cave. To be honest it wasn't that magical and the trip was short lived.
We then stopped for morning tea at Max Brenner - so good.
QVB was next - that tree is super amazing!
Darling Harbour was the next port of call for a play at the new park there and lunch. Berty is a good man - he took the boys to McD while Steph and I had a quiet lunch at Guylian - awesome!!
It was a good day - I'm glad we finally did it :)

A dog and a sprinkler

It turns out that Indie loves the sprinkler. She stands right over it and lets it saturate her. She isn't very good at sharing it with the boys though! She gets right over the top of it and sometimes gives them a bit of a nip if they try to move her!! Pretty funny!
