Welcome
For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Lego
The boys have never loved Lego as much as I wish they did. Xavi got it out the other night and played with it for ages - yay!

My Valentine
Bert and I don't celebrate Valentines Day and that's all good with me, however, when Xavi came out with this little pressie the other day my heart melted a little xx
Oh and he got the star cause 'I sat up straight with my hands in my lap and I didn't talk to the person beside me in assembly - will Daddy be very proud of me?'
Love Kindy!!!

Happy Pants
I love pyjama pants - I always have. I have been known to put them on way before bed time just cause they are so comfy. Well I found some crazy pants the other day that are as comfy as pj pants but that I can wear when I go out. I have never claimed to be a fashion star - I just wear what makes me happy - and at this point it comes in the form of crazy pants! Xavi asked me 'Mum are they your pyjamas or your clothes?' - mission accomplished!

Photos
I read an article the other day that someone had posted on Facebook. It was basically about letting people take photos of you because you are part of the family/friendship group etc and that when people look at a photo they don't see how horrible you think you look - they see their mum or friend or daughter etc...
I hate photos of me but I want my boys to know that I was there! Sooo I will try to be better at letting photos be taken of me - for the kiddies and for memories.

Although I still dislike photos of myself here are some. This was my first day back teaching on a class that I can call my own and Xavi's first day where he started at 9am.

Kitchen renovations
Sounds much more exciting than it really is. I've wanted some shelves at the end of the kitchen for a while so I can display some of the lovely kitcheny things I have been given.
We went to Masters and bought 2 sets of shelves for $40 - yes last of the big spenders. Berty and Xavi then put them together.
I am very happy with the shelves and I will keep working on the display.
Note the pretty owl tea cozy made by Jac, glass teapot from Jen, owl teapot from Steph and glass milk carton from Jac too!!

A new era
Today was the first day in 8 years where I was home without children and it wasn't a work day (as in a paid work day). It was a strange feeling but a good one! I had a long list of things to do which didn't all get done but I made a good dent in it. It's so weird not having someone vying for your attention all day. When I sat down for my 10:30 coffee (you can pretty much set your clock by that) there was no one interrupting me! How liberating!!
There are things that I'll miss about Xavi not being home - spontaneous cuddles, his funny little ways, someone to bake with, going to the park, my little cleaning helper.....
There are things I won't miss - tantrums, whinging, constant 'I'm hungry', having to pack the DS & snacks to get a coffee out that only lasts 5mins, Xavi attacking Indie, mess, mess, mess, having to get ready to leave for school pick up 30mins early to allow for the tantrum and dragging of feet....
I am sure there are more but you get the point.
I feel ready for this new stage (Xavi has decided he isn't and has cried going to school every day since the first) I am glad I am working an extra day - even though I feel stressed off my head with things I need to do at the moment - I would go crazy being in this house every day (being a clean/neat freak is not my thing).
It will take some getting used to but I like it so far....tomorrow I am going to go to the Post Office without having to say 'no you can't have that' 20million times!!! Thrilling I know!
