Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Christmas Table

This year we are hosting Christmas dinner for Bert's parents, Great Ma and The Becrofts. There will be 12 of us altogether. Christmas Eve is crazy busy and Christmas Day, besides church and cooking, I'd like to actually spend some time with the boys and Bert.
I know I am stupidly organised and think too far ahead but it is what it is - the table is set. The boys will have to eat off their knees in front if the TV tomorrow dinner but I think they'll be ok with that!
I am no decorator and this is the first time I have ever done a Christmas table. I'm pretty happy with it but it won't make the pages of BH&G.

Flip Out

This morning we though it might be a good idea to let the boys let off some steam before it got too hot (38 yesterday 34 today). Xavi had said he wanted to go to Flip Out and we had heard it was great.
The reviews were right! The boys had a blast - they could practice flips into foam pits and jump off the tramps on the walls / it was wall to wall trampolines.
There was one section for under 7's only and for a long time Xavi was the only one on it.
Berty was exhausted by the end. I wish trampolining didn't make me feel like my head will explode.

They have a little ninja's class where they do karate/ninja/jumping - I'm pondering it for Xavier next year seeing as he doesn't seem to want to do soccer next year - although he is very likely to change his mind between now and then. Although ninja classes do sound fun :)

A Christmas visitor

Well he'll go home on Christmas Eve but close enough

Carols in the Domain

The night before the big show they do a full dress rehearsal. Some new friends at church invited some of us to go with them. It's much less packed and you can get a park easily and sit really close. Not all the artists were there but we got to see Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes and a whole bunch of reality talent show winners. It was a really fun thing to do with some lovely friends. You don't have to get there at 9am either - we got there at 5pm and it started at about 8. Also they don't do the fireworks so our children only cried when it rained and lightninged for about 20mins - truly they were terrified - it was rain!!!! Anyway all in all very fun.

Carols 2013

They seem to come around so quickly. I was the singer this year - just me - it was a bit nice. I even got to dress up a bit :) We had beautiful weather this year and a great turn out. Ben Pakula organised the music and practices and it was so great to just be told what to do and bit have to negotiate with people or feel the pressure of it going well. It was a great night - Mum and Dad even came!
Xavier is not a fan of the fireworks so Mum took him behind the school buildings while they were on - he didn't like them but he didn't cry so that's an improvement!

Clever boys

We were quite chuffed this year. Both the boys got an award at the Presentation Day Assembly at school. They both have had a really great year and their teachers are truly wonderful. I'll be a bit sad to see this year end. Praying they have great teachers next year too.
Xavier's award was for outstanding improvement and Seth's was for consistent effort - can't ask for more than that!

Xavier turns 6!

I feel a bit sorry for our Xavi. He waits all year for his birthday and all too soon it's over for him. Two weeks later it's Christmas and then he has to wait for another whole year. I think he smiled all day both at his party and his 'actual' birthday. He is funny, cute, cheeky, cuddly, loveable and full of energy. Sometimes he drives us crazy but we love him to pieces - crazy and all.
