Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Seth does it again

So Seth brings home his results from the English comp yesterday - he got a Distinction! Top 9% of the state in Year 3. Go Seth!

What I love is that he just handed it to me with no excitement - I have a feeling he didn't know what a distinction was :)

Clever & Kind

This week both the boys brought home awards. I try not to boast too much about my kiddies but I think it's ok to be proud of their efforts.
Seth got a credit in the uni spelling tests - a pleasant surprise.

Xavier was nominated for a care award at school (long explanation of what this means - just believe me it's special) Miss Fullwood his teacher nominated him - I'm glad he is showing kindness to others - an admirable trait

Father's Day 2013

I sort of forgot to get Bert a special breakfast or to even wrap his present but he's the kind of guy who doesn't really care about that sort of thing. I pray our boys grow up to be just like him - loyal, patient, loving, dedicated, funny, a great friend and husband and a follower and servant of Jesus.
The boys got to wear their new Aunty Jacqui tie shirts as well - so cool.
We went to Belgenny Farm to celebrate with Bert's family.
Next weekend is Barclay Birthday and Father's Day extravaganza in Canberra - mum's 70th, Liz's birthday and Father's Day.

The weekend that followed

I am not sure that Xavi was completely well on Saturday but we had tickets to see Mabelle in Southern Stars (think Wollongong School spectacular) and we weren't going to miss it. I dragged him along and although still a little weary both the boys had a wonderful time. We even saw beautiful Mabelle in amongst all the other kids! The boys loved the show - there are no photos cause the ushers see you getting your phone out from a mile away and hunt you down! Trust me - it was amazing and worth making the boys come. Sick or not!

Sick little friend

Xavi had his first day off school last week - which turned into two days - he had a virus of some kind. It made him sleepy and cuddly and forced me to be home for 2 days. I got lots done work and home wise and got lots of Xavi cuddles. For a kid who never sits still he watched oodles of movies without moving - must have been sick!

The Grounds at Alexandria

Today I went to visit my friend Bec and she took me to The Grounds. I've been wanting to go for a long time - felt like I suitably got my Sydney funky hipster on -actually not true I am not funky or hipstery but the Grounds are beautiful. The coffee and the food is amazing. Apparently it's really busy on the weekend - it was Monday and it was packed. So popular - nice place!

Soccer Gala Day

Saturday was all about soccer. Xavi's games were at Camden at 9 & 10 followed by medal presentation - then home for Bert to leave for his soccer - then the boys and I headed over to Macquarie Fields for Seth's games at 1:30pm & 3:30pm followed by medal presentation. We got home after 5pm - such a long day but a fun end to the soccer season. Sleep in next Saturday!!!!

There's no photo of Seth by himself with his medal - let's just say a long day of soccer had caught up with us all and grumpiness was in abundance - not the best circumstances for happy photos.
