Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Date night

To be honest we really suck at date nights - I appreciate that many out there are very good at making them happen but we aren't. Anyway Berty gave me a surprise on Friday. He organised for mum to come up and look after the boys and we headed up the mountains. We began the afternoon with a coffee and fruit tart at 'The Garage' in Leura - very nice

We then wandered a little before going to the Clarendon to have a drink and kill some time.

We then had dinner and the pleasure of watching Jake Nauta. This is the third time we've seen him live and he never disappoints.

A great night - a wonderful surprise from Berty.
We didn't get home til just after midnight - I'm too old for late nights!! Needed a nana nap yesterday afternoon.

Harry Book 1

The last chapter....

Como Bridge

Today we finally did the Como Bridge walk with Bert's parents. The weather was gorgeous and we had a really nice day. The boys rode their scooters over and then spent ages climbing the rocks. We had lunch at the cafe on the water - a nice way to spend Anzac Day.

After holiday club

It is taking a while to recover to be honest.
Berty painted Seth's room on Monday - it looks really great.

The boys slept at Liz's for 2 nights so Tuesday morning, before I picked them up, we went to Squeeze & Grind in Camden for breakfast - this is my new favourite place to go.

I don't normally have pancakes with ice cream for breakfast but thought it looked too good to resist - it was pretty yum!

Holiday Club 2013 - Pirates Ahoy!

This year was all things pirates. We had 86 kids on Thur and 76 on Fri and then 65 kids singing on the stage at church on Sunday - amazing!!! So many families came and heard Jono preach faithfully about how they need Jesus - what an amazing answer to prayer. I am so blessed to get to do a job that tells kids about Jesus - I am glad I have a piece of paper that says I am a teacher but this is what I love doing best. We have a great team at HPAC that make this thing happen every year. Jenny outdid herself with the drama and costumes this year!!

You never know

In the last week I have heard of 2 people dying.
One was Bronwyn Chin, wife of Richard Chin, who lost her battle with cancer. She was a faithful and godly woman to the very end and in the sadness we can rejoice that one day she will be reunited with her family and that she is being held by her loving Heavenly Father.
Today I heard of a 21 year old boy/man who was killed in a car accident last week. I taught him in Year 2 and remember him as a bit of a wild child even back then. I know that through his years at Broughton he would have clearly heard the gospel. I don't know if he knew Jesus as his Lord and Saviour.....you never know when your time is up.
Praise God that for those who believe and trust in him their eternity is sure. That's why we keep doing this ministry thing - we want everyone to know and have that hope.

Paper planes

Seth was very busy making lots of paper planes yesterday afternoon. Both the boys then spent a good amount of time throwing them while standing on the picnic table. Sometimes it's the simple things.
