Welcome
For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Christmas decorations
After 12 years of red, green and gold I decided it was time for a change. This year is a purple and silver year.

More to it
Yesterday I was waiting to pick up Seth from school and overheard a lady complaining about how much money Christmas costs and that it's all over in a day and it all seems a waste - she said really what's the point. I really wanted to turn around and say don't get caught up in all that stuff cause there is a point to Christmas and it's not the presents there is more to it - it's Jesus!! That's the point!! But I didn't - probably should have but I didn't.
I am so glad that we have reason for celebrating Christmas - even if there were no presents or carols or busyness there would still be that precious boy - God's son who we would stop and remember at this time every year. I love that - I love that there is more to it.

November 25th
I just went to the shops with Xavier and there are soooooo many people there!! We got there just after 9 and found it hard to find a spot - we normally get our pick of the car park! Wow! I am now wishing that all of my Christmas shopping was finished!!
Some things I've learnt
Last week was one of the worst that we have gone through in many years. Through it all thought there are things that we have learnt....
God is good, God is always good. He was looking after us through all that bad stuff in so many ways. He doesn't always answer our prayers with a yes but he loves and cares for his people.
3 year olds don't always bounce but they can be very brave and take things in their stride. Although they do get very frustrated when they can't do all the physical things they would normally do.
Our puppy Xsara held such a big place in our hearts - I am not sure I realised just how much until now when there is a big hole there where she was. We miss her every day - she was part of the family and if that makes me a crazy dog person well then so be it!
We have close friends and family who we can rely on in times of need - whether they be the ones just round the corner or the ones praying and sending messages from far away - we felt very loved and cared for.
Our little family is very precious and it felt right when most of us were back together - 4 out of the 5 - I am grateful to God for my 2 sons and fabulous husband.
Berty is amazing.
Getting life back to normal takes a lot of effort and it takes my brain a long time to clear the haze of last week.
They are just a few things I have learnt.
