Welcome
For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Afternoon with Gran and Grandad
We haven't seen mum and dad for ages so Sunday afternoon the boys and I headed down to the Gong for a visit. Dad took us out for a milkshake which is customary. We went to the Golf Club - it was very nice. The boys ate way too much cupcake and drank too much milk but oh well (caramel milkshakes Aunty Jacqui) We had a really nice time. Grandparents are special people.

The council clean up
I have a love hate relationship with council clean ups. I love that we get rid of stuff. I love that in the flurry of declittering stuff that you've wanted gone for AGES (like our awful 13 year old BBQ) go out on the kerb and the big truck comes and takes it away. I love that sense of freedom in getting rid of stuff.
I love that we have decided that we should put the fusball table outside for the boys to actually play with - if it gets ruined out in the elements oh well but at least it's being played with. These are the decisions I love.
What I hate is that all your junk is out on the kerb. I hate that people can see the lounge that the dogs ripped up. I hate that people can see our old awful BBQ. There is also the worry that the truck will come and reject our junk - that we haven't read the instructions properly and they leave stuff sitting on the kerb - rejected - twice. Then the embarrassment of having the bring it back inside and deal with later - oh the shame.
I plan on being out all day tomorrow so that I am not here when the big truck comes - if I have to deal with junk when I come home.....maybe I'll just keep driving and wait til Berty gets home.
Look at the fun the boys are having - got them off screens for a while - yay! AND brought back the memories of the night Berty was given said soccer table. Let's just say Berty was sick, sick, sick, Xsara ran away, it was about 50 degrees and Jen may have done something to Michael that I won't make her relive again. Ah good times, good times :)

Soccer begins 2014
So the craziness of Saturday soccer has begun for this year. Training, travelling, Saturdays eaten up - but what can you do? They love it and it's good for them so let the craziness begin.
Seth was goalie for a while today and did some great saves.
Xavier, the child who spent all holidays saying he wasn't playing soccer, played a great game today! He was tackling, running with the ball, engaged - what?!!! Such a different kid from last year. He even scored 3 goals today!

Xavier is in the navy blue shirt in the middle of the field - he had just kicked the ball.

First Dragons Game
The other week Micky D called Berty to see if we would like to go to the footy with him. It was a time and day we could make - the time had come to expose the boys to live footy.
I am not sure they were thrilled to begin with but as the dragons got up and the crowd around us were cheering they soon got into it. Especially Xavier - I wish I could have got a picture of his face each time he realised we'd scored - pure joy.
Hopefully this will ignite their love of watching the game with Dad and they might want to watch it with him rather than drag him from the TV. A great day was had - it helped that the dragons belted the tigers (I am fully aware this may not happen again but oh well)

Tea with my lovely
A couple of weeks ago we spent a rainy Saturday at The Rivas' - hanging out, playing & painting basically.
I had the pleasure of taking Mabelle out to get a few things for camp and she wanted to have tea. So we did. It was lovely. I've been smitten with this lovely young lady since the moment I held her in my arms over 10 years ago. She is delightful xx
