Welcome

For a long time I have been saying that I should write a blog about our family for our friends who live far away. As more of our friends are moving away I have finally got myself organised to do one!! Who knows how this will go - bear with me as I work this out :) Let the blogging begin.....

Soccer begins

Xavi had his first match on Saturday. It took bribery to get him on the field - it could be a very long season with him.

It was such a hot day!!

Seth's game was cancelled but he is ready to play.....

The Engagement Party

Today was Pete & Zoe's engagement party and it was delightful. It was at a house in Cronulla that backed onto this cute little beach - the boys were entertained all afternoon. They had a great time playing with their cousins. The food was yum, the decorations were beautiful and the happy couple were happy! A really nice afternoon. I didn't actually get any photos of Pete or Zoe....actually just photos of the pretty surroundings really! I promise you there were people there!

Camden Show

We have lived here for over 10 years and never ventured to the local show. We decided this was the year to try. A good time was had, we didn't have to drive as far and it was cheaper than the big one. It might become an annual event. Even Bert had a good time!

For some reason Xavi deemed the black chook evil and so we had to leave the bird display.

First soccer training

Xavi had his first soccer training on Thursday. It was boiling hot but he sort of had a good time....I think? He came off when it was over crying because that wasn't real soccer - real soccer is on the big field. Oh well hopefully he will get used to the mini field quick smart cause he has at least 4 more years of it -always wants the next thing our Xavi.

Kindy Homework

Xavi is super excited about homework - me not so much but I am pretending in the hope he will always love it. It hasn't worked with Seth but they both have many, many years of it ahead of them.

Busy but little to tell

My blogging has been lacking of late and for that I apologise. We have hit term 1 running and haven't loked back. Every February I am reminded that school comes back with a bang - lunches, drop off, pick up, homework - swimming lessons, meetings. Everything starts back - Scripture, Kids' Club, Kids' Church, staff meetings, organising, planning working people out.....it all starts back for all of it and so there is a certain February depression that sets in (coupled with the disgusting humidity blah blah blah). We get to March and things have settled somewhat into a routine but then soccer starts - I love that my boys want to play soccer and I really want them to be involved in a team sport (especially 'I would be happy to play on my own all the time' Seth) - I just lament the training (for both of them this year!) and our Saturdays. Anyway give it a few weeks and we will settle into that routine too. I am trying to not get caught up in being busy but feel like that is just the way things are. Although I wish I perhaps didn't have to work every Friday there is something nice about a class that already knows my name, a budget that knows what money is coming in and I do appreciate being out of the house one day a week for a whole day - with a purpose and one that keeps me away from the shops for no reason. So really there is little to tell...a brief catch up on each of us.... Xavier is loving school. He has a beautiful teacher, is making some nice friends and is starting to recognise letters. He will start soccer for the first time in a couple of weeks and he has gone up a class in swimming. Seth is happy at school, is with his friends again and is ready to play soccer again. Bert has started his nerdy uni maths thing and so now I get to hear words like 'surd' and 'expanding trigonomic equations' and things like that I don't understand - nor do I want to. I am trying to spend some time on Monday away from the computer or work doing something that I want to do - sometimes a bit of a 'Me Party'. Last week I went and spent some time with Liz and it was very nice. The other week I went and had a coffee by myself and read a trashy magazine. So we are busy but there is little to tell. God is teaching us and growing us and changing us all in the busyness of life - that's family, that's life I suppose!!
